What is the Cooling-off period?

  • Updated

A cooling-off period is a timeframe during which a policyholder can cancel their insurance policy for a full refund of the premium and any levy paid.

Bowtie provides its customers with a 21-day cooling-off period, which begins on the day the policy is issued ("Issue Date"). During this time, our customers can thoroughly consider whether the benefits are suitable for the insured person.

You have the right to cancel the policy for a full refund of the premium and levy paid, provided that:

  • The policy is cancelled via the Bowtie member portal within the cooling-off period.
  • No claim or benefit payment has been made or is pending under the policy.

Please note that this right does not apply to policy renewals.

If a policy is cancelled after the cooling-off period has expired, no premiums will be refunded. Such requests must be submitted through the Bowtie member portal at least thirty (30) days in advance.

Of course, you are always welcome to contact us before getting insured. Our advisors can help you find the most suitable insurance products for yourself and your family, helping you choose a policy so that a cancellation isn't necessary.
