Can I change the deductible option for my Bowtie Pink plan?

  • Updated

Yes, you can apply to change the deductible option for your Bowtie Pink plan at least 30 days before the next policy annual renewal date.

  1. If you want to increase the deductible option for Bowtie Pink, it will be considered a downgrade request. You will not need to go through underwriting again, and the waiting period for pre-existing conditions will not be reset (it will be calculated from the original policy effective date). Please call the Bowtie customer service team at 3008 8123 for assistance.
  2. If you want to decrease the deductible option for Bowtie Pink, it will be considered an upgrade request. You will need to go through the underwriting process again. You can submit the request through the Bowtie online platform.

In addition, If the policy has satisfied the below 2 conditions, Bowtie Pink policyholders can exercise a one-off right to reduce or remove the deductible, without re-underwriting, or providing further evidence of the insurability of the insured:

  1. The related Bowtie Pink policy has been in effect for 2 consecutive policy years
  2. The Insured Person attains the Age of 55, 60, 65, 70, 75 or 80

The policyholder can request to exercise such right, made not less than 30 days prior to the annual renewal Date on or immediately following the date that the Insured Person attains the required Age. Please note that this right can only be exercised 1 time during the lifetime of the Insured Person.

In any case, after the change of Deductible, the premiums of the Policy will be adjusted according to the prevailing Standard Premium schedule and the relevant Terms. For details, please refer to the policy terms and conditions Supplement No. 1.

Once your application to change the deductible option is approved, we will immediately charge you the premium for the new plan. Your existing policy will be terminated, but we will still provide coverage until the next premium due date, even if it is less than a month away. Any premiums already paid will not be prorated and refunded
