Before insured’s renewal age reaches age 86, Bowtie will contact the policyholder via email or customer portal to obtain confirmation for converting the “Term CI Multiple Cover” and“Term CI Early-Stage and Multiple Cover” to "Term CI," which provide single-pay major critical illness coverage, given that the coverage for early-stage and multiple critical illnesses ends upon the policy renewal date at the age of 86. Early-stage claims have no impact on this renewal.

In addition to early-stage and multiple critical illness coverage, the following supplmentary coverages will also terminate before insured’s renewal age reaches age 86:

  • “Total Permanent Disability” and “Loss of Independent Existence” endupon the policy renewal date at the age of 65.
  • “Major Medical Treatment” ends upon the policy renewal date at the age of 70.

Worth noting, If the insured person is diagnosed with a critical illness at a very old age, the total critical illness premiums paid may exceed the sum insured. For example, a man purchases $1 million Bowtie Term CI, renews it till the age of 82, and then suffers from critical illnesses unfortunately at the age of 82. The total paid premium may exceed $1 million.
