Different insurance products have different compensation methods, generally divided into ‘reimbursement-based’ and ’lump-sum payment‘:
- Reimbursement-based: The insurance company will reimburse part or all of the medical expenses based on the insured person's actual expenditure.
- Lump-sum payment: As long as the insured person's claim application is approved, the insurance company will pay the compensation in one lump sum.
3 of the Bowtie's products, including Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme (VHIS), VHIS Flexi, and Cancer Fighter, are handled in a ’reimbursement-based‘ manner. The other 2 products, including Critical Illness Insurance and Life Insurance, are handled in a ’lump-sum payment‘ manner.
